Name:
Nori

True Name:
Miyazaki Noriko
(Noriko Miyazaki if going by American name organization)

Gender:
Female

Age:
16

Birthday:
April 3, 2006

Greatest Ambition:
To become a famous writer. Though chances are that won't happen now with the way things are going.

Physical Description:

Height:
5'2

Weight:
99 pounds, give or take. Dependent on the time of year.

Eye Color/Hair Color:
Dark Brown/Black

Nori has always been a tiny girl. Now 17 years old, she stands at a small 5'2" and weighs 99 lbs at best. Of course her weight dips during the wintertime because of lack of proper nourishment. She has a pale and clear complexion that contrasts well with her short dark hair and dark eyes. Nori really is a pretty girl and people tell her so. But most of those people are those in the Carrion whom she is close to. She doesn't have many friends or acquaintances outside the tribe.

Distinguishing Marks:
She has a scar on her left elbow from a fall into the sewers.

Sexual Orientation:
Heterosexual

Single or taken:
Single

Best friend:
To be announced

Personality:
Where her brother is a troublemaker, Nori is very much the opposite. She was the child born with a level head and it's been evident ever since she was little. Ever since she was old enough to learn how, Nori's been cleaning up her brother's messes and trying to keep him from getting in as much trouble with authority figures. Whether it was their parents, teachers, principals. You name it, she saved him from it at least once. Despite their difference in age, she still looks out for him and tries to keep him from doing anything too irrational or stupid. Nori doesn't have near as big an ego as her brother, though she does have a distinct confidence about her that is hard to deny. She's sweet, but she knows how to use that confidence and charm to get the things that she wants. You learn quite a few tactics for this when you have an older brother. For example, there's the batting eyelashes, the pout, the "pretty pleeeeeease?" All are tricks up her sleeve that make up a good arsenal. Only if they're needed, though. Other times she'll simply ask for whatever she wants rather sweetly and hope that it works. She's also a firm believer in "if you really want something done or want something that badly, then you'll do it yourself."

Nori is plenty playful like her brother and also rather flirty. She loves to see boys' reactions to what she says and does, whether or not it's flirting in a friendly way or flirting in a serious way. This isn't something that her brother takes to kindly, for obvious reasons. He's protective of her in only a way that big brothers can be. She doesn't like to worry him when it comes to guys, but sometimes it's entirely unavoidable. After all, he has to understand that someday there will be one guy that she chooses to be with for the rest of her life. And until shre finds that one special guy, then there certainly isn't anything wrong with friendly or more serious flirting with other guys along the way.

Playful, but with a level head, she also enjoys partaking in the various pranks and things that go on to try and liven up the otherwise dreary environment of the hospital. She's not so much teh mastermind of such things, but more the helping hand that can, if necessary, talk the mastermind out of trouble and consequences.

The one distinct thing you will notice about Nori is this. Though she is a girl with a mostly sweet temperament, you'll find that she's got quite the nasty temper on her. It doesn't come out particularly often, but when someone or somthing does particularly anger her you can guarantee that it won't be too pretty. She'd not above yelling to get her point across or even giving the cold shoulder. It's really something that will stop you from doing whatever stupid thing you did a second time. But again, it takes a real something to get her to that point. Otherwise, she's pushed only to annoyance and agitation. At that point, if you do something stupid she'll just nag you and lecture you much like a mother would.

Personal History:
Emiko and Aoi Miyazaki had been a couple arranged to be married by their parents. Though they only grew to love each other as lifelong best friends, their marriage did just fine. So much so that they already had a child by the time Noriko was brought into the world. Fuji was four years old when his little sister was brought home from the hospital. Luckily enough, he didn't hate or resent the new baby at all. Nori got most of the attention as is normal for the births of new children. She was a sweet and amicable baby. Her laughter filled their home and was contagious. Her smile brightened up a room. She and Fuji got along very well. They would play peek-a-boo or Fuji would tickle her or throw her up in the air like she was flying. The two of them were perfect siblings. Well, perfect besides the fact Fuji was a troublemaker and prankster.

Nori grew up a normal and completely sweet little girl. She was quite the charmer and had a way of getting what she wanted rather easily from her parents, her brother or other people. There was just something about her that you couldn't say no to. But no amount of charming and "pretty please?"s would change the decision that her parents made when she was only four years old. Apparently, their entire family was moving to America. More specifically, Sundance, Wyoming. Being so young, Nori really didn't understand why. In truth it was because Emiko's sister had lost her husband and needed family there. Her brother threw tantrums and kicked and screamed, but she went along with her parents once she figured out that none of her asking to stay would work. They all got on that plane and she tried to take her mind off of the move by playing with her brother or retreating into sleep.

Wyoming was boring. Extremely boring. But Noriko tried to make due. Most of her time was spent at home with her mother in an attempt to learn English well enough to be conversational, but eventually the time came to enroll her in kindergarten. She readily made friends with the girls and boys in her class despite her slightly broken English, but it was different than Japan. There were no cherry blossoms to see right out of your window and none of the other things that she'd enjoyed about her old home.

Time passed and Noriko grew from a sweet little girl, to a sweet teenage girl. Compared to her brother, she was a perfect child. Good grades, good behavior, good everything. She even managed to get her brother out of trouble quite a few times. She thought his martial arts lessons would help him out and keep him from being so troublesome. If anything, it would help him to be a better role model. She really did look up to Fuji, though when he did really stupid things with those dumb friends of his she couldn't help but be disappointed in him and not want to admit looking up to him at all. Those kinds of things were the ones he managed to pull off without getting in trouble, but it was the principle of the thing.

Even with her concern for her brother, she couldn't help but pay attention to the rumors of the Ans virus that began floating around. It was being called the foundtain of youth. A way to stop the effects of aging. Only now, it was making people ill. Other people might have chosen to ignore it, but she just couldn't. So when the epidemic hit Sundance, she wasn't taken by surprise. Predictable, people started getting sick one after another. She feared that her parents would get sick too, but despite that she clung to their promise that they'd be just fine. But soon enough Emiko and Aoi fell ill and were being taken to the hospital for treatment.

Sickness accelerated into quarantine. Neither Noriko or Sensei could see their parents, so, like so many other kids, they stayed in the hospital. Hoping for some shred of good news when there seemed to be none in this ongoing nightmare. People began dying quickly and not just patients. Hospital personnel too. The virus wiped out all under the age of twenty-five. So only the orphaned children and the younger employees of the hospital were left alive. Nori couldn't help but cry, holding onto her brother's side and trying so hard not to completely fall to pieces.

When her brother stood up, suggesting that everyone left in the hospital stick together in a group, she was surprised but found that she agreed with him. There was nothing more that she wanted than to stay by his side no matter what. Some walked out on them, but most stayed and they formed a ragtag tribe of sorts. Together they managed to fight off any looters that came post-epidemic.

Eventually, though, their tribe left the hospital and took to fending for themselves. Scavenging and looting. Noriko became second in command of the tribe, trying to prove a level-headed approach to balance out her brother's prankster attitude. Though she fully supported her brother's decision to keep their tribe, dubbed the Carrion, a secret. Otherwise, some terrible things would happen. Pressure from the Mountain Lions was a possibility as were quite a few other things.

With control over the south side of the city came the sewers and the hospital. And that is where the tribe is now. Noriko, who now goes by Nori, is still second in command and trying to do her best at the job so she can help her brother.
